The Eclipse Foundation has announced the formation of the Open Regulatory Compliance Working Group. This initiative aims to support the open source community in adapting to new global regulations.
“As software technology significantly influences the global economy, it’s expected that worldwide governments are introducing various regulations to ensure privacy, security, and accessibility,” stated Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation. “The Open Regulatory Compliance Working Group is designed to connect regulatory authorities with the open source ecosystem, helping organizations and developers use open source technologies while complying with changing global regulations.”
Initially, the Working Group will concentrate on the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), anticipated to take effect later this year.
