Digital Edge DC, a company supported by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, has successfully raised $1 billion in debt to facilitate the expansion of its data center operations across Asia. This announcement reflects the increasing demand for data services linked to artificial intelligence.

The funding arrangement consists of two loans of approximately equal value, earmarked for expanding the company’s data center campuses in India and South Korea. The loans are expected to have terms ranging from five to seven years. About half of the funds will be allocated to a new project in Navi Mumbai, marking Digital Edge’s first venture in India. The other portion will support the campus in Incheon, near Seoul, identified as SEL2.

While specific details of the financing were not disclosed, industry observers highlight that this development exemplifies the ongoing investment boom in data center infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to the debt financing, Digital Edge DC had recently raised $640 million in equity from both existing and new investors. This influx includes participation from significant institutional players and sovereign wealth funds.

Having been established in 2020, Digital Edge DC currently manages 21 data centers distributed across several countries, including India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and South Korea.
