Lumen Technologies and Flexential have announced the expansion of their on-demand networking capabilities by enhancing their Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) integration. This collaboration connects Lumen’s NaaS platform with Flexential’s FlexAnywhere platform, granting enterprise customers located in Flexential data centers immediate access to software-defined network services.

The strategic partnership aims to meet the growing demand for flexible and secure connectivity solutions, driven by advances in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud adoption, and edge computing, which are contributing to increased data traffic and network complexity. Through this integration, Flexential clients can efficiently manage Lumen’s network services via a user-friendly, cloud-like interface, facilitating rapid deployment and simplified management across over 42 FlexAnywhere locations.

Dave Ward, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Lumen, underscored the importance of agility in enterprise connectivity. He stated that the partnership delivers the flexibility and security businesses require, transforming how connectivity is managed. With Lumen NaaS, enterprises benefit from a quick and straightforward network purchasing experience to help address their evolving connectivity needs spurred by AI advancements.

Customers will gain access to essential services, including Internet On-Demand, Ethernet On-Demand, DDoS Essentials, and Lumen Defender, through Lumen’s partner ecosystem. These NaaS nodes will be situated in Flexential data centers located in Hillsboro, Oregon; Aurora, Colorado; and Plano, Texas, ensuring low-latency access and localized service delivery.
