Lenovo has launched a suite of data center systems, software, and services tailored for artificial intelligence workloads under its Hybrid AI Advantage product line. The centerpiece of this offering is the ThinkSystem SR680a V4, a compute appliance boasting nearly twenty processors within an air-cooled chassis. This new system can run inference workloads up to 11 times faster than Lenovo’s previous generation hardware. It includes eight Nvidia Blackwell B200 AI accelerators and six Intel Xeon 6 CPUs, featuring up to 288 Efficient cores. The system connects via eight Nvidia BlueField-3 DPU SuperNICs, facilitating high-speed interconnects between CPUs and GPUs while offloading tasks to optimize AI processing.
Additionally, Lenovo introduced two other hardware solutions built from its existing ThinkSystem SR675 server lineup. One of these systems integrates SR675 V3 servers with Cisco Nexus switches, allowing for installation of up to eight Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition graphics cards, designed for workloads that exceed just AI tasks. Another system in this lineup is optimized for IBM’s watsonx software suite, aimed at aiding companies in developing AI models and managing data.
As part of the Hybrid AI Advantage offerings, Lenovo is also providing four new bundles combining Lenovo hardware with third-party AI software:
- Hospitality: Collaborating with Centific AI Data Foundry and Nvidia, this bundle enhances real-time personalization in hotels, streamlining operations and improving data-driven guest insights.
- Workplace Safety: In association with Avathon Visual AI and Nvidia, this solution enables real-time hazard monitoring and compliance checks regarding personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Retail Analysis: Partnering with WaitTime and Intel, this offering employs Edge AI-based computer vision to conduct real-time crowd analytics, enhancing revenue and guest satisfaction through actionable insights.
- Quality Inspection: This bundle works with Trifork and Nvidia to deliver automated defect detection and transform sensor data into actionable insights on the factory floor.
With AI budgets projected to triple to near 20% of IT budgets by 2025, Lenovo recognizes the urgency for businesses to gain returns on their AI investments. To facilitate this, the company is launching AI Adoption and Change Management Services, designed to assess organizational AI readiness, upskill the workforce, and maximize returns from enterprise systems. Key applications of these services include:
- Assessing employee readiness for AI transformation and identifying targeted strategies.
- Customized training based on employee roles to reduce resistance and enhance engagement.
- Supporting employee integration of generative AI tools like Copilot through focused training and change management.
- Establishing governance and cultural readiness for responsible AI usage within organizations.
According to Ken Wong, executive vice president and president of Lenovo’s solutions and services group, “AI adoption demands a clear strategy, trusted expertise, and the right technology mix that can accelerate time to value.” The Lenovo Hybrid AI Advantage aims to help organizations convert AI potential into significant performance improvements, allowing every part of the organization to operate more efficiently and confidently.
