
IBM and AMD have joined forces to enhance the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) through the deployment of AMD’s Instinct MI300X accelerators on the IBM Cloud. The Instinct MI300X accelerators will be made available as a service on the IBM Cloud, with a launch date anticipated in the first half of 2025. To ensure operational efficiency and security, AMD accelerators will be integrated with IBM Cloud’s Virtual Servers for VPC and supported by various container platforms like Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
