Green Revolution Cooling (GRC), a leader in single-phase liquid immersion cooling for data centers, has recently announced a significant funding boost from Samsung Ventures, aimed at advancing its immersion cooling technology and forming new partnerships in artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), and sustainable data centers.

The investment from Samsung Ventures joins contributions from existing backers, including HTS, SK Enmove, and ENEOS. This round of funding underscores the confidence that investors have in GRC’s strategic vision and technological advancements. Additionally, GRC has entered into a strategic business alliance with Samsung C&T, further solidifying its commitment to pioneering innovative cooling solutions.

The funding arrives after a series of notable achievements for GRC over the past year, including establishing a strategic Engineering Alliance with Cisco and launching new products. They have also expanded their customer base and received a renewal of their ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification. Notably, GRC’s deployment of a 100 kW-per-rack immersion cooling system at Shell was recognized as a finalist for the North American Data Center Project of the Year at the DCD Global Awards.

Peter Poulin, GRC’s CEO, hailed the funding as a validation of the company’s mission to revolutionize data center cooling. He stated, “This additional capital allows GRC to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation in single-phase immersion cooling. We’re committed to delivering low-risk, low-TCO integrated solutions with the help of regional partners and operational experts.”

The partnership with Samsung C&T is expected to take GRC’s strategic roadmap to new heights. Through collaboration, both companies plan to develop reference designs that cater to the thermal requirements of emerging technologies like AI, HPC, and edge computing. These design blueprints will play a crucial role in modernizing cooling strategies across various data center configurations.

Daejung Kim, Vice President of the Green Business Office at SK Enmove, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We are pleased to welcome Samsung to the GRC investor family. Together, we aim to simplify digital infrastructure while reducing environmental impact," with a focus on creating a more sustainable global digital ecosystem.

GRC’s patented immersion cooling technology eliminates the need for traditional cooling systems such as chillers and air handlers, significantly reducing energy consumption and operational costs, while simplifying data center architecture. The company is well-prepared to meet the growing demand for efficient and sustainable cooling solutions, with installations across 22 countries. As workloads become increasingly power-intensive, GRC’s ongoing collaboration with silicon manufacturers will help ensure that its solutions remain cutting-edge and effective.
