GlobalNet has successfully launched a new high-speed fiber connection between Stockholm and Berlin, which enhances its network capabilities across important European hubs. The 1,200-kilometer DWDM fiber link offers network latency of less than 12 milliseconds, ensuring fast connectivity between the Speedbone DC in Berlin and Equinix SK1 in Stockholm.

This new connection underscores GlobalNet’s commitment to rapidly deploying advanced infrastructure to satisfy client requirements for reliable, low-latency solutions.

The Stockholm-Berlin link is a segment of a larger initiative by GlobalNet, which completed two secured DWDM ring routes earlier this year, linking key cities such as Frankfurt, Warsaw, Prague, and Vienna. These initiatives further solidify GlobalNet’s status as a prominent provider of high-performance connectivity solutions throughout Europe.

Expanding Key European Network PoPs

Alongside the new fiber link, GlobalNet has expanded its footprint by creating new Points of Presence (PoPs) in critical locations, such as Stuttgart, Zurich, Munich, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, Katowice, and London. These network PoPs offer scalable services with 10G, 40G, 100G, and 400G ports, enabling access to DATAIX Internet Exchange, DWDM, L2/L3 VPN, and IP Transit services.

GlobalNet expressed appreciation to its team for overcoming logistical obstacles and maintaining energy efficiency throughout the project, showcasing its commitment to delivering efficient connectivity solutions.

In less than a year, GlobalNet has established key PoPs in the following locations: Stuttgart (EXA Edge DC); Zurich (Equinix ZH4); Munich (EXA Edge DC); Vienna (Digital Realty VE2); Bratislava (Sitel); Prague (CE Colo DC7); Katowice (4DC); and London (Telehouse North).
