In a significant move to enhance digital sovereignty and cloud adoption, AzInTelecom, part of Azerbaijan’s Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON), has formed a partnership with Gcore, a global technology provider known for its expertise in edge AI, cloud infrastructure, network services, and cybersecurity. This collaboration marks Gcore’s first venture in the South Caucasus, aiming to create a sovereign cloud infrastructure that adheres to Azerbaijan’s national data regulations and digital transformation agenda.

The partnership has introduced a sovereign cloud platform named AzInCloud, which is now operational and serving a diverse range of customers across Azerbaijan. The platform is designed to deliver secure, low-latency cloud solutions that comply with local regulations and fulfill the growing demands for scalable digital infrastructure in both public and private sectors. AzInCloud operates on a pay-as-you-use model, making it accessible to individuals, startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, government bodies, and entrepreneurs.

AzInCloud features a comprehensive suite of capabilities typical of enterprise-grade cloud ecosystems, including real-time monitoring, user-friendly cloud management, a variety of operating system choices, and a cloud marketplace offering various services and applications. These attributes are part of broader efforts within Azerbaijan to cultivate a digital-first economy and lessen reliance on foreign data services.

Gcore’s CEO, Andre Reitenbach, underscored the importance of digital sovereignty, asserting that the sovereign cloud solution with AzInTelecom empowers Azerbaijan to maintain full control over its digital infrastructure. He described this initiative as foundational for long-term resilience and trust in digital services.

Further emphasizing this aspect, Farrukh Farajullayev, AzInTelecom’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed pride in the AzInCloud platform’s role in driving digital transformation across various sectors. He noted the significance of their collaboration with Gcore, a respected European technology firm, in realizing this ambitious project in Azerbaijan.
