He later transitioned into a customer support role for a WordPress eCommerce plugin called Cart66. His eagerness to learn led him to enhance his development skills and eventually become part of the development team at Cart66. Additionally, he started a side business writing PayPal plugins for Easy Digital Downloads.

Despite a brief detour from WordPress development, Rojas rejoined the community in 2016 at Awesome Motive, starting with Envira Gallery and later moving to OptinMonster, where he leveraged his PHP skills. His proactive approach and hard work contributed to significant team productivity, ultimately leading to his appointment as President of AIOSEO.

Upon becoming President, Rojas faced the significant challenge of dealing with an outdated codebase and had to decide whether to improve the existing code or rebuild it from scratch. They chose the latter and successfully rewrote AIOSEO in just 11 months, thus ensuring a sustainable future for the product. AIOSEO, which has amassed over 3 million users, is recognized as one of the original SEO plugins for WordPress, consistently evolving to meet user needs with features like redirects, local SEO, and an integration with Google Search Console.

Rojas emphasizes the importance of adaptability and continuous learning for aspiring developers. He recommends that beginners focus on PHP and JavaScript to build a solid foundation, as both languages are integral to WordPress development. He advocates proactively seeking opportunities, even on a small scale, for experience in web development.
