CoreWeave Unveils Expanded Multi-Cloud AI Solutions at Google Cloud Next

CoreWeave has made significant strides in enhancing its multi-cloud capabilities, especially at the recently held Google Cloud Next ’26 event. The AI cloud provider introduced several new services aimed at easing the integration of AI workloads across multiple cloud environments. These updates include enhancements in networking, orchestration, and data management, responding to the increasing demand from enterprises to distribute AI workloads across platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure.

Direct Connectivity to Google Cloud

A key feature of this update is the CoreWeave Interconnect, a dedicated private connectivity service that connects CoreWeave’s infrastructure directly with Google Cloud. This service aims to streamline deployment timelines from months to just days by eliminating the complexities associated with third-party networking providers. With dedicated bandwidth, low-latency connectivity, and built-in MACsec encryption, the Interconnect addresses critical networking hurdles that often impede cross-cloud AI operations.

Dave McCarthy, vice president of cloud and edge services at IDC, emphasized the importance of this direct connection. He noted that it mitigates three primary failure points in cross-cloud AI: networking bottlenecks, orchestration silos, and the financial implications of data transfer.

Introduction of SUNK Anywhere

CoreWeave is further expanding its operational capabilities with SUNK Anywhere, an enhancement of its Slurm-on-Kubernetes system that allows for seamless operation across cloud and on-premises ecosystems. This unified control plane enables consistent training workflows across CoreWeave, Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure, ensuring organizations can maintain efficiency and scalability in their operations.

McCarthy highlighted that the abstraction provided by this system allows enterprises to integrate research-focused orchestration with the scalability options available in Kubernetes, facilitating better resource management.

Improved Data Access with LOTA Cross-Cloud

On the data front, CoreWeave has launched LOTA Cross-Cloud, an advancement in its data caching technology designed to expedite data access speeds while keeping data in its original location. This system can deliver near-local throughput—up to approximately 7 GB per second per GPU—to computational resources across different environments, effectively minimizing the overhead usually associated with data movement.

Enhanced Integrations and Monitoring

Lastly, CoreWeave introduced deeper integrations with Weights & Biases to bolster visibility and workflow consistency for developers. New features include integration with Google’s Gemini CLI, access to Gemma models through Weights & Biases Inference, and improved telemetry to monitor TPU utilization.

The implications of these advancements are particularly significant for Google Cloud, as they indicate a commitment to multi-cloud interoperability and enhance the potential for future collaborative initiatives with CoreWeave.

As CoreWeave strengthens its position as a pivotal player in the multi-cloud AI landscape, the recent updates promise to drive efficiency and accessibility, addressing the evolving needs of enterprises navigating complex cloud environments.
