Last month, auction platforms NameJet and SnapNames began selling expired domains from prominent web hosting companies, Bluehost and HostGator. Both platforms are managed by Newfold Digital, the parent company of various well-known domain registrars, including Network Solutions and Register.com, which also utilize NameJet and SnapNames for their auctions.
In an effort to inform domain investors, the company was contacted to provide a list of registrars that contribute expired domain inventories to NameJet and SnapNames. The following registrars were identified:
- Network Solutions (including merged accounts from Web.com)
- Register.com
- Domain.com
- Bluehost
- Hostgator
- Dotster
- PublicDomainRegistry
- Logicboxes/Orderbox registrars
- SnapNames/NameJet Dropcatching Registrars
- CrazyDomains
- IONOS Registrar group
- Ascio
- Automattic (WordPress)
- OnlineNic
It’s important to note that domains from these registrars are sent to NameJet and SnapNames before they enter the full deletion process. If no one bids on these domains during this period, they are eventually deleted.
