Quantum computing company Orca Computing, based in the U.K., has partnered with German firm ParTec, known for its expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) and AI supercomputing. This collaboration aims to introduce quantum capabilities into AI infrastructures, specifically targeting quantum-enhanced AI applications.
The integration will see Orca’s photonic quantum systems embedded within ParTec’s AI Factory infrastructure, focusing on industries such as mobility, transport, aerospace, and satellite operations.
The initial deployments of this partnership will occur at two leading European supercomputing installations: The Elbjuwel system at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf and the Vesuvio system at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. These facilities are expected to be among the largest supercomputers globally, underscoring the significance of this collaboration in the evolving landscape of AI and quantum computing.
