Khazna Data Centers has announced a strategic partnership with the International Data Center Authority (IDCA) to align its operations with globally recognized standards in digital infrastructure. Based in Abu Dhabi, Khazna is one of the largest hyperscale data center operators in the Middle East, and this collaboration signifies an essential step in standardizing best practices across its functions.
Under this new agreement, Khazna will align its operations—including workforce development, AI and cloud services, service delivery, and architectural design—with IDCA’s rigorous benchmarks that emphasize performance, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence. This partnership is particularly timely as Khazna embarks on developing a 5GW AI Hub in the UAE, designed to address the growing demand for AI and cloud computing services in the region. Additionally, Khazna plans to expand into crucial markets such as Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Egypt, Turkey, France, and Italy.
Mehdi Paryavi, Chairman and CEO of the IDCA, highlighted the significance of this alliance, stating that it will not only establish new excellence standards in the Middle East but also on a global scale. He emphasized Khazna’s pivotal role in advancing digital infrastructure for cloud and AI, underscoring the importance of adhering to international best practices.
Khazna’s CEO, Hassan Alnaqbi, reinforced the future-focused nature of the collaboration, noting that all future developments will be aligned with IDCA’s framework, which reflects the complexities of modern digital infrastructure. The compliance certification process has officially commenced as of July 1, 2025, with joint teams from Khazna and IDCA working on a comprehensive compliance and auditing program. Alnaqbi expressed Khazna’s mission to provide future-ready infrastructure that drives digital transformation at scale, explicitly focusing on the impact of AI in the industry.
IDCA anticipates that global data center capacity could surge from an estimated 55GW today to between 250 and 300GW by 2030, indicating a pressing need for skilled operators like Khazna to provide infrastructure that meets both local and international standards. By partnering with IDCA, Khazna is positioned to lead digital transformation in the region while contributing to the global advancement of AI-driven data infrastructure.
