Elliot Noss is stepping down as CEO of Tucows after a remarkable 25-year tenure, although he will continue as a member of the board of directors. Known for his prominent role in the domain name industry, Noss has been a familiar face at numerous domain conferences and ICANN meetings but has focused more on the company’s fiber business in recent years.
David Woroch, the current CEO of Tucows’ domains business, is set to take over as CEO of the entire company. Woroch will maintain his position at the domains sector, while Ivan Ivanov, the CFO, will also become the CEO of Ting Internet.
This transition was announced alongside Tucows’ third-quarter earnings report, which revealed a 6.8% year-over-year revenue increase to $98.6 million and a gross profit rise of 9% to $24.2 million. Despite losing a significant customer that brought its domains in-house, the domains business saw a 4.8% revenue bump to $67.8 million, attributed largely to increased sales of expired domains.
Following the news, Tucows’ stock experienced a significant rise in the market.
