Darktrace Strengthens U.S. Footprint with New Dallas Deployment Center

Darktrace, a prominent leader in AI-powered cybersecurity, is expanding its presence in the U.S. with a new 7,555-square-foot deployment center in Dallas, Texas. This facility is part of a broader strategy to enhance their U.S. operations and is expected to be fully operational by September 2025. The center will cater to both commercial and government clients, facilitating hardware deployment and compliance operations, particularly for those employing hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

The establishment of this center reflects Darktrace’s commitment to strengthening its foothold in the U.S., the largest cybersecurity market in the world. Alongside the Dallas center, the company is also opening a corporate office in the city and upgrading its facilities in locations such as Austin, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. These expansions come in light of Darktrace’s acquisition by private equity firm Thoma Bravo in 2024 and align with its long-term growth objectives in North America.

To bolster its U.S. operations, Darktrace has appointed two senior executives. Marty Overman takes on the role of Executive Vice President, Sales, Americas, bringing extensive experience from her previous tenures at notable cybersecurity firms. Eve Saltman joins as Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary, having held senior positions at GoPro and other organizations. These appointments are geared towards enhancing the company’s sales strategy and legal framework.

The Dallas center will significantly expedite the implementation of Darktrace’s cybersecurity solutions, particularly its physical appliance offerings. It is designed to manage the assembly and shipment of up to 40,000 appliances annually, which is projected to cut delivery times for U.S. customers in half. Additionally, it will enhance operations for Darktrace Federal, the arm dedicated to U.S. federal agencies, ensuring compliance with stringent security standards.

The expansion has received positive feedback from local representatives, with U.S. Congressman Jake Ellzey of Texas’s 6th Congressional District highlighting that such developments illustrate the state’s attractive business environment. He noted that companies like Darktrace not only defend against cyber threats but also utilize AI technologies to predict and prevent these attacks.

Currently, Darktrace has a substantial U.S. workforce, comprising 12 offices and over 800 employees. The American market has contributed significantly to the company’s revenue, accounting for 35% in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The expansion aims to enhance service delivery across diverse sectors, from critical infrastructure to cloud-native enterprises.

Both Eve Saltman and Marty Overman emphasize the critical need for adaptive cybersecurity solutions as demand continues to rise. Darktrace aims to leverage its comprehensive cybersecurity platform to widen its reach and further solidify relationships with enterprise customers in the Americas.
