The key change is that sellers are now permitted to list domains on any platform that sells domains via registrars, as long as those domains are priced at least 10% higher than on Atom itself. This adjustment aims to prevent potential buyers from discovering a domain on Atom only to purchase it from a competing marketplace at a lower price.
Previously, Atom had some guidelines that allowed for limited listings on other marketplaces, but the new policy simplifies these rules. Listings on Spaceship’s SellerHub, which has gained popularity among sellers lately, will now also fall under this new framework. However, it’s important to note that domains must still direct to Atom’s nameservers.
Sellers will need to manage pricing carefully, ensuring that any changes made on Atom are reflected on other platforms. Additionally, they should remain cautious about the lease-to-own settings to avoid mismatches with other marketplaces.
Atom is also maintaining its Commission Match Guarantee, which offers compensation of up to $300 if a domain sells on Afternic while still listed on Atom’s Premium marketplace, although there are specific conditions attached to this guarantee.
